St Dominic families. This past school year was a challenge for all, but as a community we all made it work. As everyone is struggling to figure out what is best for our children I think we can all agree that it should be our choice on how to protect them. Data and research is changing daily, however these are a few things that we know to be true.

1. Children are not drivers of COVID transmission. Thus, regardless of mask policy, we would expect to see limited transmission in schools and from children to adults.

2. COVID is less dangerous to children than seasonal flu, not to mention other everyday risks we accept as a normal part of a child’s life. https://youtu.be/tIaul0U83d0?list=TLGGH4pWERE8PQkyNjA3MjAyMQ

Masks are, at best, credibly disputed as a virus mitigation measure by decades of quality research, as well as observed results of mask mandates around the world, and, at worst, possibly dangerous.

3. There isn't any scientific evidence supporting that masks are effective in preventing transmission of viruses. Seventy-one percent of documented COVID cases were by those who reported wearing masks. In fact, many studies have concluded that wearing a face mask is unsafe, ineffective, and immoral. Especially the masking of children can lead to long-term physical, mental, and developmental health concerns. We must abandon this misguided attempt to singularly control a flu-like virus through experimental interventions and the suspension of our individual liberties.

Whether or not you feel strongly about masks or are against them, please consider the that majority of these children are not wearing the proper mask to stop the transmission of any virus, they are not wearing the cloth masks properly, they are not being cleaned properly, and a lot of these children constantly have these masks in their mouths chewing on them!

Please unmask our children , or in the least give parents the option to make their own choice.

Updates

July 27, 2021

The volume of support has reached a level that allows us to formally request a meeting with the school board administrators. I am currently finalizing the document summarizing these concerns to ensure our position is presented clearly during that discussion.

Masks aren’t helping anyone! Our children need to strengthen their immune systems, especially at this age!! If this continues we’re only making them more susceptible to worse diseases and/or virus’s in the future!

My son has such a hard time breathing in those things all day. It breaks my heart watching him struggle just to sit in class.

Please stop forcing this. We know the risks and we should be allowed to decide what is right for our own families.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Let these kids breathe and be kids again. The masks are doing way more harm than good at this point.
