I wake up every single day thinking about the horses waiting in the dark for a fate they do not deserve. Behind the scenes we are preparing to take these names to the officials who have ignored this cruelty for too long. Your stories in the comments keep me fighting when the weight of this feels impossible to carry alone.

Seeing this momentum grow brings me such relief because my own horses are like family members to me. The fact that so many people feel just as strongly about ending this cruel practice gives me hope that we can finally protect these beautiful animals.

Horses taught man about HORSEPOWER! And much about working relationships, friend relationships, with humans. They are great servants generally. But they did not come to serve the desires of the human palate! As for wild horses, they are just that! BORN TO BE WILD! So leave them where the creator decided they would live.
this is a tradgedy to kill and eat such a regal beautiful animal as the horse who has served mankind so loyally over the years. To end their lives in such a manner as this here in Canadais nothing but murder--plain and simple!!
it breaks my heart that this even happens in our country. horses are companions not food. please stop this nightmare once and for all.
my horse is a member of my family and i know so many people who feel the same. we need to do better for them.
THESE ANIMALS DESERVE BETTER THAN THIS. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING PRACTICE.
What is happening to the horses before they are slaughtered is brutal they are arriving starved and abused these horses deserve better when you purchase a horse you don’t discard it like and abuse it You put it down humanly please stop this

The world was built from the back of a horse. The horse carried our soldiers into war, trained to lay quietly while the enemy passed. The horse was our transportation before a car was ever thought of. The horse is the most beautiful animal God ever created. The word, 'LIVESTOCK" is conveniently being used in legislation to allow horse owners to do what they want with their horse(s) in lieu of he word, "Pet", placing the horse in an entirely different category. THERE IS NO HUMANE WAY TO SLAUGHTER ANY ANIMAL. IF YOU KNOW OF SUCH A METHOD, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
