As many of you are aware, my baby brother, Rudolph V Gary Jr aka Rock, is currently serving a sentence of 25-60 yrs for 3rd degree murder. We are trying to get that sentence reduced, given the circumstances of the tragic event.

Rudolph is the youngest and only boy of five children. He excelled at a young age in sports and academically. After high school he joined the Marines where he served his country proudly. During the period of 9/11, Rock was on duty at the White House protecting his president. Once honorably discharged, he then joined the Philadelphia Police Department, protecting his hometown. He even received a citation from the mayor for apprehending a rapist. He was just one month shy of his one year anniversary date as a police officer when he was arrested and charged with first degree murder.

The facts surrounding the incident are not those that you may have read in the paper or heard on the news. The facts remain that Rockfeared forhis life and the life of his family as the deceased was trying to gethis gun as a crowd of others came towards him. He was simply trying to protect himself and his family, something that he has done countless times, serving his country and his hometown. However when it came time for him to defend and protect his family it became a crime. The result was the loss of his brother in law, his son, his baby daughter and the upstanding life he was trying to live. This is something that will haunt him everyday, unfortunately, there was no other way out of the situation.

The city failed him and made a martyr out of him for political benefit. The average time given for someone charged with 3rd degree murder is 10-20 yrs in Pa. Rock never had any criminal record, in fact he upheld the law at all times.

We need your help to get his sentenced reduced. Rudolph has no prior history of any criminal activity. Rudolph is an outstanding man who has not only good moral judgment, but also a strong character. Rock had full custody of his son and took good care of his family. In fact he even took in and took care of Howard, his brother in law, when his own family could not. It was a terrible loss to both families. We are a religious family and believe everything that happens is God’s will. We may not know his plans for us but we trust him, always.

Please help and sign the petition to get this unjustly sentence reduced. A man of Rock’s caliber has much to offer the world. Thank You.

The character of all the Gary family is outstanding as is Rock's an his merits as well as the circumstances surrounding this traggedy should be examined very carefully and weighed against the clearly criminal behaviors of some on law enforcement who have not been judged so harshly for their clearly murderous actions. Rock does not deserve this harsh and unjust treatmemt.Thank you

This whole thing is so unfair. I know the family and they are good people. Praying for justice for Rock.

Rock is a hero who served this country well. It is wrong how he was treated when he was just protecting his own family. Bring him home now.
