My house is one of the four houses that backs onto this track and I can’t tell you how much joy it brings me to see the kids out there on this council strip. Each afternoon connecting, building friendships, hearing them laugh and watching them be in nature. This space has become so important to our local community. As a Psychotherapist that works in our community with teenagers I am so grateful that this space is being used for boys to be boys, in nature, off the Xbox and having fun in a healthy social way. I sincerely encourage that this space be used by the local kids for connection.

I am new to Forries and my three boys (under 10) continually want to go there. I supervise them and they are respectful.

Take things like this away from kids and what choices are they left with? Forries was my sanctuary growing up skating the streets and riding my bike.

My kids absolutely love it. They are older, but love helping a friend’s young boys learn to ride and jump. They’ve got their own beautiful community happening.

Despite the fact I’m a grumpy old person, I enjoy seeing and hearing kids out in a safe environment having fun.

Please allow the kids to continue to work together to create a space where they can enjoy being active, outdoors and part of a community. Last week when I was there with my kids, there were kids from 3 years on balance bikes to older teenagers, All playing together, taking turns, looking after each other, being respectful, kind and having fun. The benefits far outweigh any inconveniences.

Please keep this for our kids to have somewhere to go and share childhood memories. Healthy good old fashioned outside play.

Why take away kids playing ground? They’re safe and some where their mums know.. they’re not in front of a screen!!!

We had one of these growing up, we used to spend hours on our bikes setting up and playing games. Kids still love this kind of fun, let’s give them the same opportunity we all had.
