The city of Fife, Washington is slowly becoming a food desert. Of course, there used to be grocery stores but it seems that is no longer the case. Within the past several years there have been many wearhouses erected and yet no grocery stores. In the city's comprehensive plan it explaines that they would like to attract more home buyers, and it even recognizes the value a grocery store could bring to the area. I have tried to contact local officials about the status of these plans and have yet to receive a response. The percentage of those living in poverty in Fife has increased over the past several years. However, the addition of a grocery store could provide more jobs and attract more homebuyers as well. It's truly sad that we have a food bank and yet no grocery store. Together we can change that. Help attract the attention of our local officials to this issue. We deserve to know why this has been ignored for so long, and how it can be solved #FoodforFife
