I started this petition to educate pet owners, more specifically other ferret owners. Both AirCanada and WestJet do not allow ferrets on their flights. My hope is that one day the policy will be changed. I called WestJet and AirCanada to book a flight and to let them know that I was planning to take my two ferrets with me. They both said their policy only covers dogs and cats. So I asked to speak with a supervisor to discuss this and understand their policy better. From that conversation, they directed me to contact Civil Aviation, Canadian Air Transport Security Authority and the Canadian Transport Agency because they make the policies. After talking with all three, they all told me that the individual airlines make their own policies. So I called WestJet back and they said for me to write a comment on their feedback page...maybe one day it will be changed.
