28 years ago Michelle Schofield was stabbed 26 times and left in a canal along I-4 near Lakeland, Florida. Although no physical evidence tied her husband, Leo R. Schofield Jr, to the murder, he was convicted and sentenced to life. 16 years later, unknown fingerprints found in Michelle's car were identified as belonging to Jeremy Scott, who lived less than 2 miles from where Michelle's body was found and is serving a life sentence for another murder.Yet Leo's appeals were all denied. I don’t know if he’s innocent but he needs a new trial. Given the finger prints and confession and untenable timeline there is most definitely reasonable doubt.
the prosecutorial corruption and injustice highlighted in this case is endemic in FL, citizens need to demand an end to this behavior
This is such a travesty. The killer has confessed to the murder of Michele Schofield. There is no evidence connecting Leo Schofield to the murder. This so upsetting. Imagine if it was the relative of one of you who have taken this man's freedom.
The evidence and eyewitness testimony clearly show Leo to be NOT GUILTY. Plus the state offered to let him go for time served and a plea of guilty about 5 years ago. He declined, saying, "I won't cheapen my wife's memory by saying I am guilty when I am not." When you get offered a get out of jail free card and turn it down because you are an honorable man, that screams NOT GUILTY!
I took time to go through all the details and story. Certainly have doubts about the evidence and overall case. Please free him or grant him a new and fair trial.

I know Leo and am convinced he is innocent, but I am not convinced he is innocent because I know him. I am convinced because of the facts. If you take the time to review the information you can come to your own conclusion. I urge you to take that time.
