On Thursday, January 22, 2009, Microsoft announced their intention to cut 5,000 jobs. It has been discovered that they have cut the entire ACES studio, giving the team about a 24 hour notice that their jobs are being eliminated. Now the future of Microsoft Flight Simulator, one of the most popular real-life simulation applications and the longest running franchise in video game history, is in jeopardy. Some even say that the franchise is now dead. This petition is for Microsoft to reverse their decision and to give the hard-working intelligent members of the team their jobs back and to ensure the continuation of Microsoft Flight Simulator development for years to come.
