The County Council of Montgomery County Md requests that statistics be presented to them regarding patterns of opiate use, overdoses and deaths in order to fund prevention and recovery programs. Funding for collecting these statistic was cut several years ago. While kids are becoming addicted and dying I would like to petition the first responders, police, fire and rescue and hospital emergency room staff to testify in front of the Montgomery County Council to what patterns of use they are seeing over the years, age groups, increase or decrease, substances involved, etc. as to provide concrete evidence of the substance abuse situation Montgomery County is facing.
Enough is enough. Families are being destroyed every single day in this county and the council needs to stop dragging their feet and actually look at the real numbers.
