This petition is being created to alert the editors of the "Observer" that its readership does not appreciate Rex Reed's review of Melissa McCarthy (supposedly under the guise of reviewing her most recent movie, "Identity Thief." This is beyond Journalistic irresponsibility. This is just plain bullying and name calling. At what point did Mr. Reed decide and the "Observer" agree that the article would become a hate-filled diatribe against Ms. McCarthy rather than an objective review of the movie? Perhaps it is due to Mr. Reed's ongoing irrelevance or the "Observer's" push for increased traffic and readership through this, I ask that Mr. Reed be pushed into further obscurity by firing him and retracting this article!
