Fire Prevention - PETITION To Increase Brush Clearance

Private landowners of undeveloped ACRES of land need to be accountable - change ordinances to clear brush MORE THAN 5 FEET from street - in todays environment that is useless when a fire and winds ignite. ie. Peacock/Kanan on Westlake Blvd all the way to Ralphs has plant of brush that is privately owned and undeveloped for years.

So many of us have worked hard all our lives to allow us to move to clean and respectable areas! We resent the City and State laws that allow the invasion of dangerous and ILLEGAL squatters in our community who are likely to start fires and spread the use of illegal drugs and assaulting residents and their children! Our taxes pay your salaries and YOU need to help us rid our beautiful city of these homeless camps!

I have PTSD from Thomas and Woolsey. I get anxious every time I hear about fire weather and it's almost enough to make me want to move away. Please help our community.

Call the city too.

You should call the fire department regarding your neighbors. They are responsible for enforcing the the brush clearing rules.

Keep our property and homes safe by clearing brush throughout the year. Home owners should do the same. I am surrounded by 3 homes who don't and stress every time the winds kick up.

There’s a vacant lot next to and behind me with dry overgrowth. I’ve notified VCFD, and nothing is being done. Any suggestions to get it removed? Thanks in advance!

I was directly in the way of the Erbes fire. I’ve been a resident of Thousand Oaks for over 15 years.

Please clear the brush on the Hillcrest hillside to keep us safe from wildfires like the 2018 one that threatened our homes.

Because COSCA is more concerned with native plants. They will not listen to the latest science data and the fact that goats and sheep don't eat native plants when they are properly managed.

We need control burns, fire breaks and regular brush clearing! Not sure why that’s so hard to grasp or why we ever stopped?

We need to do controlled burns and brush clearing like we used to!! We can’t worry about 2 beetles and end up killing a thousand plus all the other beautiful wildlife.

This is crucial to prevent & slow fires! Please do what's right.
