It's not that easy. We are still in a battle trying to get the City and COSCA to agree with us. They care more about native plants than preventing fire spread!

I back up to the Hillcrest hill and had to evacuate with the fire coming so close. Thank god the city removed the dead pine trees.

I think using goats to clear the brush is the best idea.
I would support the petition if only annual grassy weeds and dead plant material are removed. Healthy native plants, trees and shrubs should not be removed. Goats could be the answer!

Nothing would please me more than to see our hills dotted with goats that are clearing the brush. It would give Thousand Oaks a peaceful, bucolic appearance and reputation.

I have lived here OVER 35 years and we never, ever had fires like this.... They must, must let us clear more brush and if necessary use the goats or whatever other means are necessary.

Proactive environmental management is KEY to preventing repeats of the large fire events we've had recently, and involving our high school students will raise their awareness and provides them an opportunity for meaningful community service. Great idea.
