Let's rally to find the cause. These young folks are so brave and it could be any of our kids going through this.

I have lifelong friends who lost their beautiful daughter, Kenan Colbert Koll, to ocular melanoma. They deserve answers as do all the other families who are going through this. Whatever testing is necessary should be completed without question or delay!

As an ocular melanoma patient and a parent, I think it is unconscionable that CMS will not let the testing be done. It is despicable!

I have a freckle on my eye. As a former employee at Hopewell I a extremely nervous about this. We need to know if there was a specific cause that resulted in these two precious girls losing their lives and all the others with Hopewell connections fighting this terrible disease.

A rare condition that has a highest number of cases in one spot is odd and needs to be researched further...

We are being told that Hopewell HS meets the standards of our governmental agencies! Do those standards include water, soil, electricity standards. Are those reports available? Is meeting the standard good enough? There are 10 active cases of Ocular Melanoma with connections to Hopewell High School. And, Kenan and Meredith lost their lives to OM! Is this a coincidence of such a rare Cancer! It certainly is not the standard! Hopewell HS seems like a perfect place to start to advance OM Cancer causes? Are there high levels of cancer causing chemicals in the water, soil, or within the building. I have several questions: there are dozens of known carcinogens. When Hopewell was built, was it tested for all of these carcinogens, or just the obvious ones like asbestos, lead etc. Has any testing been done since the school was built, ie maybe there were carcinogens that were undetected at the time the school was built, but have been activated since construction. CMS says the building was tested. Was it standard testing that would apply to any building in Meclenburg County, or has any special testing been done because of the Cancer cluster concerns? Thanks everyone for your support!

Need to find out what is going on and why the heck is an independent research company not being allowed to investigate.

For Ann Clark - if your kids had gone to Hopewell wouldn't you want reassurance that the cause is not Hopewell high school? My 2 children graduated from there. i would like that reassurance
