By signing this petition, I am expressing concern to ensure all agencies step up at get testing down so we don't have to have more victims. This isn't about politics, this is about doing the right thing.

Every time I go to the eye doctor, I now have to double-check and specifically ask to make sure they check for red flags of this cancer. If there is nothing to hide, CMS, then why not get the testing done and bring some relief to the thousands of people so concerned about this issue? It is hard for me to believe this cluster is a coincidence. Allow independent researchers to come in, CMS! Quit with all the politics and red tape. This community and school deserves answers.

Both my daughters went to Hopewell for 4 years and graduated from there. This is very concerning!!!

Robin, so sorry to hear this. I have been concerned about this situation ever since it was first reported, but it is the most recent update and response from CMS that has really prompted a call for action in our community. With so much information at our hands about such a small area I have to believe that a qualified team with unlimited access could help narrow down the issue and find the root cause. Is it environmental (water, soil, air), the nearby mines, the electric lines or the airport radar. Or is it something that all of the cases did (tanning booths), or had eye exams? There has to be an answer here. None of this will of course bring back your Meredith, but maybe we can prevent others.

Certain factors may increase your risk for developing melanoma. These include:
Being exposed to natural sunlight or artificial sunlight (such as from tanning beds) over long periods of time;
Having light-colored eyes (blue or green eyes);
Older age;
Caucasian descent;
Having certain inherited skin conditions, such as dysplastic nevus syndrome, that cause abnormal moles; and
Having abnormal skin pigmentation involving the eyelids and increased pigmentation on the uvea.

This is disturbing that CMS won't allow environmental testing at Hopewell High School. UNACCEPTABLE! We must make our voices heard so please share and retweet so we can get way more than 1000 signatures.

There is no good or valid reason for CMS not to allow access to Hopewell for testing. If you truly care for all students, this would not be an issue!

CMS and Hopewell need to start answering the public's concerns. What is CMS and Hopewel hiding if they keep saying no to environmental testing on campus? I also live within a mile of the campus and currently attend Hopewell. It's time for some answers

It is not responsible for CMS to allow students to continue to attend hopewell on a daily basis knowing there is a rare case of cancer being brought to attention around the school area. If immediate action is not taken I shall not go to school until further notice. Thank you

If CMS is all about what is best for the children, Ann Clark and the board would let soil and water samples be taken at Hopewell HS.

It is rediculous that CMS will not allow testing on the property. It makes them look guilty and that they know something. Can't a court order overrule this?
