Admit to Bitter is a pop-up shop that currently lives on the first floor of 117 Beekman St in the South Street Seaport. The shop has served as a necessary safe-haven for the artists of downtown Manhattan. It has given opportunities for visual art, fashion, photography, music, and even theatrical productions in association with local Pace University, Hunter College, and FIT students.

Soon, the shop's lease on the space will close and Admit to Bitter will lose it's amazing home. This petition is to show that their is definite interest in finding the shop a large space in the South Street Seaport area, so it can still house local artists!

Jackie Joseph has done and is still doing wonderful things for art, artists as well as young creators and to us her followers. Help her keep her store/art gallery open!

Admit to Bitter is the rare venue that offers tourists as well as New Yorkers an opportunity to connect with the work of a wide variety of working, local artists. The South Street Seaport is lucky to have Admit to Bitter.

I had the privilege to wander into this amazing gallery/Art sanctuary on a long layover in NYC... When I heard it might not be around for my next visit I knew I had to sign this petition. It's impo to have places like this in the community...places where young artists can grow and express themselves. Please support this great place ❤︎

Howard Hughes is taking away all of the lifeblood of downtown Manhattan. Please don't take this innovative and community based space away from us too

Admit to Bitter is so important, we can't lose this integral part of our community! After performing Dumbwaiter in rep with Happy there this past weekend, it is so clear how many artists in the downtown area need this space, especially artists whose schools don't have space for them to work.

Admit to Bitter is an amazing space for artists in a variety of mediums. Without Admit to Bitter, I fear the lose of an artistic center for creativity in the increasingly dreary Financial District of New York.
