As a teacher of and parent of an autistic child, I have to say the worst thing they ever did was change the eligibility for Special schools to only those with Intellectual Impairment. Regular schools are not safe or supportive environment for a large majority of students with ASD, in fact in most cases it they are detrimental.

im fortunate enough that my child was able to go to a special school but there is alot of asd children that have to go to a mainstream school and are having trouble coping. something needs to be done to help this kids.

this is my son's third school.Its been a huge struggle and battle to get him to be treated fairly and not bullied.Im constantly told that my son will never be a rocket scientist and unfortunately will slip through the cracks in the system.so disappointed that this is hiw
