Active Stirling are doing a great job for our communities.

Today Stirling Council on their own website under the heading “Stirling Council Sports, Physical Activity and Wellbeing Provision” made attempts to justify their actions while also making attempts to suggest they wanted to “correct some serious misinformation”.
The propaganda statement continued “We know how important the sports and leisure services are to so many of you, and the concern felt by those of you who work in these services, which is why it’s vital that we reassure you and correct some serious misinformation”.
If they really care they will not go ahead with their corrupt tender process which will land us all with an unknown company managing our service provision for the next 25 years.
The council using FAQ format make further attempt to justify their underhand tactics regarding their tendering process. The council make claims they could not legally keep extending Active Stirlings contract, yet they now wish to give a 25 year contract to an unknown entity rather than provide it to a recognized, trust worthy local charitable establishment which does give best value for the taxpayer. The council is spinning a tail, the council due to the charity status of Active Stirling did not need to go through a tender process, the council wanted to force the tender process so that they could off load their own responsibilities for the next 25 years to a commercial body with a claim of charitable status to soften blow to all of us who enjoy one of the best sport villages in the country.
They go on to suggest they are not privatizing our sports village but they are. They claim a charitable trust registered in Scotland would run the service and, because of this, it would be required by the Office of the Scottish Charities Regulator (OSCR) to reinvest any surplus back into the service. The key word being SURPLUS. The charity will partner with the commercial arm of SLM for provision of goods and services. This way the charity has to pay for service provision back to the

Active Stirling r there for the community private sector always put profit 1st what will happen to our kids then especially as play parks n no longer safe for our kids to play socialise n exercise

Active Stirling have done a fantastic job at bringing sport to many who wouldn't have done in the past. School taster sessions. Accessible classes in various locations. There is diversity in these classes I've never seen before.

I support active Stirling. Bringing in a commercial firm will only push up prices and take away access to activities for families.

Active Stirling are needed in the community the activities run during school holidays etc are beneficial to keeping young kids active and involved with other kids

The lack of communication from Stirling Council in regards this matter is nothing short of shameful. The job Active Stirling has carried out over the past 10 years has benefitted so many in the local area. For these people to now face such uncertainty as to their future job security is a disgrace.

In My Village Cowie we have Active Stirling who do Buggie Walks .Exercise on Thurs for the our Elderly in Village and also Run Program's for our Kids in the Holudays .
