Retaining Active Stirling as a public contract will ensure services are delivered to the widest possible communities within The Stirling area. A private contract will jeopardise the currrent service delivery.

This has got to be bad news. How can an English company provide the quality of services we have come to expect. Active Stirling have done an excellent job and to not continue with their contract through looking for the lowest cost tender is just foolish and will be seriously detrimental to sport in Stirlingshire.

The 22 Stirling Councillors need to think very carefully about how they vote on Thursday's question about the Active Stirling's contract. After all there is an election in May and the councillors are working on behalf of stirling constituents not on behalf of a profit generating company with shareholders and listed in the Times top,100 profit making company's.

Active Stirling is one of the few organisations who usually listen to you and try and help the community and not themselves

No, this is just awful to even think about capitalizing on all the efforts of everyone involved.

As a member of Stirling Bike Club I have been using the Peak for years, recently participating in the Spin Classes. My daughter also attends swimming galas at the Peak. What a fantastic facility, superbly run, ever willing staff and as a result busy all the time. This is due to Active Stirling, a model of the way organisations can work for the benefit of the community. Why would Stirling Council want to change the ownership of this from a charity with a 10 year proven record within the community to a commercial organisation solely focused on profit?

As President of Stirling Triathlon Club and a local business owner, it is with concern that we have found out Active Stirling who have helped our club grow to over 380 members including 180 under 16's and a mix of nearly 50/50 female male participation. Active Stirling hav been pro-active in developing products and services to local residents and made The Peak a monumental success story., with perhaps the busiest location of it's type anywhere in the UK. The staff and management worked tirelessly to ensure clubs, sessions and classes offered matched the needs of the local community, if a new company steps in I hope they too understand the needs of the local residents and don't simply chase for profitability, health and well being are a more important use of local tax payers money.

Why change when the present Active Stirling setup is working so well for the local community.

Active Stirling and the peak do far too much for the community that a private company won't do. My 8 year old did jumping beanz from 9mths-3 years then athletics 6-8 years . I work for a local playgroup and have used active Stirling to provide lots of opportunities for my young children who otherwise probably couldn't access.

Surely there's a need for those people that use the service to have their voices heard? As it stands, Active Stirling provides a great service .

I have just become a regular user. Well maintained and well used facilities, efficiently managed with a visible commitment to promoting a fitter, healthier more active community. The staff I have met show that shared commitment. Please ensure the quality and community "fit" are considered in taking the decision. It would be a pity to lose this culture - even if the apparent cost is reduced.
