I think it is shocking that the council can sell off another asset. The peak is owned by the people of Stirling . Another example of a successful public enterprise being hi jacked. It's sickening. Not what I want to see happening.

Active Stirling should keep their contract. They have done a fantastic job and engaged so many people in so many sporting activities.
Who are SLM mentioned by 'Anonymous' in the first comment? I assume it is Sport and Leisure Management Ltd. I have Googled them. They do not seem to have any specialist partnerships with or knowledge of running ice rinks from what I can see. It is always bad news for ice rinks when people with no knowledge of highly specialized ice sports try to take over the running of rinks. It usually fails. Let us hope that the current curling and skating staff are listened to and remain in their jobs. It is they who have made the ice rink the huge success it has become.
SLM is based in Leicestershire. What happens if there is a referendum for Scotland to leave the UK and the referendum is successful? How will a company based in England be responsible for funding sport facilities in Scotland?
SLM is a private company. If prices are raised to unrealistic levels,, people will be priced out of the sports they love and sport in Stirling will just be for those with plenty of money.
If SLM fails to deliver on its pledges, how can they be removed when their contract is for 25 years?
The restaurants are excellent as they are and should be allowed to remain. We do not want them replacing with vendors of unhealthy fare as is often the case in so many sports centres these days.
