Currently millions of people in Africa do not have access to vital medical supplies and treatment. A conglomerate of social and international conditions are responsible for the current pandemic crippling the African Continent. The following petition proposes to increase the circulation of generic brand drugs throughout the African continent to alleviate the suffering of millions of innocent people. In order to accomplish this ambitious feat, we propose that the Canadian International Development Agency decrease the current patent life on newly developed Malaria vaccines and AIDS antiretroviral medications to five years.
