This petition is to speak up for our current fourth grade class in Butler, calling for three classes for the 2013-2014 school year. The current fourth grade classes have 27 students, which we find an unacceptable, high number. If our fourth grade students are split between three teachers next year, the class sizes ill be 18/18/18. The current fifth grade has classes of 19/18/18, almost exactly the same size as the class entering the fifth grade next year. To continue with two teachers is inconsistent and unfair to this year's fourth grade class. We ask for equal treatment of our students and equal opportunity in the classroom. At class sizes of 27 each, students are not recieving the same edicational advantage as other classes in the building. And this high class size is BEFORE move-ins. The following parents are in support of hiring a third fifth grade teacher for the 2013-2014 school year.
My son is already struggling because the teacher just cant get to everyone. its not fair that the other grades get smaller classes but our kids get stuck in a crowded room. change this now.

27 kids is way to many for one teacher to handle. how can they focus on learning with that amount of noise and chaos? we need to do better for these kids.
