There is a possibility that the 2017/2018 4th grade class of 29-30 (or more) students will not be separated into 2 class rooms. We are looking for support from you, the parents, to help get our point across to Mrs. Conkling (principal) and Dr, Willis (Superintendent).
We feel is a smaller classroom size teachers give students better, more-tailored instruction. Students will behave better and pay more attention in smaller groups. In a smaller class you will not have kids in the back of the room giggling, laughing, distracting the students trying to pay attention to the lessons. Please help us push for two, 4th grade classes in the 2017/2018 school year at Riley.

Having 30+ students in a classroom simply isn't what's best for kids, and that should be Riley's number one priority. Students don't get the attention and quality education they deserve with that teacher student ratio. Our family was under the assumption that the class size would be large for 3rd grade only and then split up for the rest of their elementary years. I hope this can be fixed.

Research shows that smaller class sizes are undoubtedly more beneficial to students. I feel that if the school has the necessary staffing to make this happen, it should.

Separating 4th grade into 2 classes can only benefit students to have more time with teacher.

I believe Riley has enough resources to split the grade in 1/2 and keeping 4th grade as 1 large class would be detrimental to my son's education.
