It's an absolute disgrace how field event competitors are treated......something needs to be done . Not everyone wants to see lap after lap after lap. ...how hard can it be its only a takes a few seconds.

WE SHOULD HAVE ENCOURAGED OUR ATHLETES TO BOYCOTT THE CENTENARY GAMES ALONG WITH THE DIAMOND LEAGUE. UNFORTUNATELY MOST ATHLETES ONLY THINK OF THEMSELVES BUT MAYBE THE THROWERS COULD BE PERSUADED OTHERWISE. HAMMER THROWERS ABOVE ALL HAVE A ROUGH DEAL AND SHOULD BE SUPPORTED AFTER ALL IT IS BECOMING THE MOST POPULAR THROWING EVENT IN THE UK PARTICULARLY AMONG YOUNG GIRLS. WE SHOULD BE SUPPORTING THEM. I WOULD HAVE.

its shocking that there no coverage of throws even when Lawrence okoye was throwing national records for fun the was more happy to show 10.4 sprinters

BBC athletics has become more chat than coverage. Field events are virtually ignored yet they are almost always the most absorbing of events at any athletics meeting. BBCTV coverage of field events would do so much to inspire the next generation of throwers and jumpers as well as retaining an audience who are increasingly switching to Eurosport.

Nick Millar is world ranked obove many of the athletes they spend endless time waffling on about . This is a small instance of the lack of coverage. BBC is meant to be distinctive or they lose the fee. So why will I watch them when Eurosport do a far more inclusive job?

It's disgraceful as a young thrower I want to see the big names in my sport throw a long way...

Everybody - whilst i believbe this is worthwhile the BBC will ignore this and you will get the bog standard answer that people are not interested especially in the throws. You also have to complain to the BBC after every meet shown where they have control of the coverage.

The drama of a good field event competition is almost entirely lost with the 'highlights only' style of TV coverage. I actually think Steve Backley provides some interesting commentary but the format does not help him!

I think throws really show be shown more on tv, even if you have to make it on sky red button so you can choose to go on throwing or to watch the running! I know most people love running but it be amazing if we could just press somthing just watch throws or jump's.

Please show more field event, people talking while you can see throws and jumps in the background is no what we want.

Been throwing now for over 4 years. In that time I've seen how the popularity of the hammer throw has grown. However, the BBC don't see the hundreds of people that turn out for this event when it is shoved to the outside cage. Throwing events, especially hammer, are often put 'out the back' so we don't interfere with the so called 'popular events'. If throwing events were shown more on the BBC, the general public would appreciate the technicalities of these events. They could spend more time showing field events and less time panning across the stadium, and listening to pundits, funnily enough, talking about sprinters!!

Sat up all evening to watch Hull Hammer Squad member Alex Smith in the final of the London Olympics. NOT EVEN SHOWN. Where is the diversity to encourage kids into athletics? Not everyone is a sprinter! Also, British Champs this year announced "athlete of the day" before Hammer even took place. We are bored of watching sprinters over and over again in slow motion.

Please let us have more field and less talking when events are taking place

If we showed more of the throws and other field events people would begin to learn and understand it more. It not all running, PLEASE show more of the throws events.

Very far overdue. The last 20 minutes of yesterday's Anniversary Games was a CLASSIC EXAMPLE.. Please do your very best to get the message through to the BBC Director General of OUTSIDE BROADCAST . Thank you Ted

Very annoying to hear the presenters talking about a track event that had finished to see on the big screen behind them Javelins being thrown
