This petition is requesting that the village of Duddington the re-considered in the Superfast Northamptonshire fibre rollout. The exchange in Duddington has already been linked with another 21CN enabled exchange greatly reducing the cost involved with providing the residents of Duddington with fibre. This work was carried out last year by the Digital Rutland Fund. The council is targetting to provide as much of the county as possible with fibre broadband by 2017. However, Duddington is in the final 10% of this plan and could possibly not be enabled for many years past 2017. It is a confusing issue as the cost has been reduced so significantly that I would have thought the council would have jumped at the oppertunity to provide fibre solutions to a whole village at a greatly reduced cost. Therefore, I have created this petition in the hope that the council and team responsible for the rollout might reconsider their current plans and fast-track upgrades for Duddington as most of the work and cost has already been done and paid!
