The scale of this response confirms that local officials can no longer ignore the safety risks at the Severn. I am now finalizing the formal request for an emergency meeting with the city council to discuss the installation of permanent barriers.

How many more families have to suffer?? Put a fence up now!!!!
so heartbreaking to hear about what happened. keep our kids safe please
Too many people are gone because of the water. Its just common sense to put a fence up before someone else dies.
Safety should be the priority. A fence is such a small thing to ask for to stop these tragedies.
Stop dragging your feet. Its a deathtrap at night.

ive lived here 20 years and its always been dangerous. about time the council actually did something useful instead of just talk.
