TO: Marquette County Road Commission
WHEREAS: Fence River Road connects M-95 to Mansfield Township, Iron County, where a large part of the township is State and commercial forest land. We believe that the Fence River Road qualifies for the federal funding which has been provided to county road commissions to maintain forest roads It is a very treacherous road with sharp corners, rough spots, unsafe depressions, which can cause load shifts, and some loads of logs have actually come completely off. Slippery, very unsafe conditions can exist during the winter.
WE, the undersigned, believe that Fence River Road needs improvements and hereby petition the Marquette County Road Commission to use the federal funds, which they receive from the State, to improve the Marquette County portion of Fence River Road.

My family drives this way to the cabin all the time and honestly it scares me. way too many deep holes and loose gravel.
Been hauling timber on this stretch for 20 years and it has never been this bad. really needs some actual maintenance.
hit a washout out there last week and almost lost a tire. this road is trash and needs help asap.
Fix the road. Fed money is sitting right there doing nothing while our trucks are getting beat to death.
TERRIBLE ROAD CONDITIONS. BECOMING A REAL DANGER FOR EVERYONE DRIVING OUT HERE.
Fence River Road is in horrible condition and needs to be fixed.
