Welsh football has always represented the best of our National identity: an egalitarian spirit and deep pride in our country. Kow-towing to the Windsors, who symbolise wealth and privilege , without being elected, will simply let down many fans who expect so much more. Honour the people, not a family risen through accident of birth.

The Queen should have nothing to do with anyone but England as none of us want the royals on Scotland, Wales and Ireland apart from rangers fans. The monarchy is a long time outdated and we should have a vote to get rid of them as they are the sc*m bleeding us dry. Should take a leaf out the French book.

The text can be edited. This petition was drawn up on the fly and I felt as there might be varying reasons why some people might be against the event it would be best to keep it simple and without going into too much detail state that it is inappropriate. Again, there'll be those who disagree because the royal family are english, that they are being opportunistic, that it is intended to put us in our place or that or that they wish to create a sense of british pride. There are probably more reasons, most of which are probably valid, however I felt it'd be best just to focus on the posititivity generated by the tournament and the fact that a royal reception would pale in comparison and would therefore be a waste of time. The original text was in english and was translated by a friend, who played about with it a bit and I was happy to put it up 'as is'. Looking back, I dont know if it is totally accurate to say "dymuniadaur llawer iawn o gefnogwyr" as the petition is only representative of those who sign it. I'm also not sure we should state that anything or anyone "shouldn't be given the right" as it might come across a bit pushy! I felt we only need state that those who have signed the petition vary from the mildly uncomfortable to the downright indignant. Either way, for whatever reason, we would prefer something like this didn't happen.
Anyway, we all get the gist, whether or not we entirely agree with the wording. I'll have a look at it tomorrow regardless.

Our real princes do not need to be caught up in the pomp of this sort of nonsense.
We don't need anything from the parasitic royals
