Faster Broadband and Total Mobile Phone coverage in Mid Devon

Ok if you live in a town, more in the outlying communities please

Request for faster broadband delivery to rural areas.

Broadband in stoneshill is terrible and getting worse,so is mobile phone signal no signal whatsoever.

Broadband speed is disgraceful - 0.5 Mbs for us on a good day. Third World developing countries do far better than this!

excellent broadband is very important for rural communities, especially those running a business.The further from a town a community is, the more important a really good broadband service is.

no mobile (at all, forget smart phones), no terrestrial TV, 1/2 Meg internet.

Much needed by the local community.

Stick the masts up and let common sense prevail!

We have lost business from our holiday let because we couldn't provide internet access. Not having superfast broadband costs us money everyday.

So frustrating living in a beautiful part of the country but feeling out of touch with the rest of the world through slow internet speeds and no mobile signal from home. Please give this priority. Thank you.

My BT speeds are generally hovering around 1Mb. Since I run a Financial Advice business from home which requires significant internet use for research and other purposes, this speed is inadequate. Skype - which is my business system - is unusable. In a desperate attempt to remedy this, I have obtained a satellite broadband subscription. This is also virtually unusable due to latency issues. I use two mobile phones, plus mobile data. Having no mobile signal at all here (or even just within a short walk) is a great inconvenience.

Broadband so slow

As the owner of a local Building company the importance of both is high on my agenda. The majority of our work is in rural villages and mobile signal is poor in the majority of cases. This makes day to day operations extremely difficult at times.

Faster broadband would be a massive help for our farming business!

Being away from the surgery and on call for emergencies is very difficult for a GP when mobile coverage is poor or completely absent in areas of Mid Devon. Internet connection is very poor in some villages which also makes life difficult for those working from home. In the modern age this is unacceptable.

The lack of this is already having an affect on my Grandchildren and their access for homework and study.

As a small business owner and a tax payer, I find it extremely frustrating to communicate over the internet. More and more the government and banks require us to contact them online. As a result, because of our inadequate access, business tasks which should take minutes sometimes take hours. And if connection is lost in the middle of the transaction (which happens more often than not), time must be wasted figuring out how to begin again.... Extremely frustrating. Also, we are unable to avail ourselves of the online entertainment options which are available on the BBC. We have to pay the same licensing fee, but are unable to access all the services that we have paid for. I applaud the move to make internet access a right - in this day and age it is a right, but I am worried that this new program will confuse and interfere with the current rollout program, which has been fraught with delay and conflicting availability dates. I also worry about the sporadic availability of mobile coverage. My son is at school in Exeter, 13 miles away. Sometimes, I am unreachable. I worry that he'll need to contact me and he won't be able to because of the lack of coverage. I sometimes get signal and sometimes don't. It is unpredictable and frustrating.
