Medical marijuana dispensaries need to be placed a minimum of 1000 feet from residences, preschools, daycares, K-12 schools, parks and other places of assembly where children are.
Currently, many cities do not have any laws restricting where these type of businesses may open. Contact your local officials to demand that medical marijuana dispensaries are restricted to a minimum of 1000 feet away from places where children are.
The City of San Jose has a City Council Meeting scheduled on June 22, 2010 to vote on this specific matter. Please attend at 1:00 at San Jose City Council Chambers.

Why is this even a question?? We shouldn't be exposing children to this right next to where they learn.
TOO CLOSE TO THE PARK. Not cool at all.
I really dont want my kids seeing that every single day. There are plenty of other spots for these businesses to go.
1000 feet is a fair distance. Just keep them in commercial zones away from neighborhoods and playgrounds.
Protect the kids first. Its not that hard to zone them properly.

Common sense. Keep that stuff away from our kids. My son walks to school right past where one of these is trying to open.
