Conservative-controlled Solihull Council continues to provide good quality services and value for money, despite lack of support from the Labour Government. Local Conservatives believe it is time that the residents of Solihull receive a fair deal. Solihull Council receives that lowest grant per head of population from this Government of all Metropolitan Borough Councils. Despite the lack of financial support, Solihull is one of the best performing councils. Figures released from the Department for Communities & Local Government show that Solihull is the top performing council in the West Midlands for collecting Council Tax and business rates and, nationally, is in the top quarter. In addition, Solihull still has the second lowest Council Tax at Band D in the West Midlands Metropolitan Authorities.
