Metastatic Breast Cancer is incurable but only gets about 3% of the research funding for breast cancer. Those with MBC have a life expectancy of 2 - 3 years because there is no cure because most of the funding goes to early detection and treating early stage breast cancer.
Over 11,000 people, men as well as women, will probably die of MBC in the UK this year, and half a million worldwide. MBC is not the same as early stage breast cancer (curable) and urgently needs research funding to help find ways of dealing with it when it has spread to bones, liver, lungs, brain etc.
30% of those diagnosed with breast cancer will develop MBC. All we ask is a fair share of the research funding to save our lives.

So sad to hear how overlooked this is. Everyone talks about the pink ribbons but nobody talks about the ones who dont make it. Funding needs to reach them too.
3% is an absolute joke. This needs more funding immediately we cant keep ignoring the people who are already stage 4.
My aunt passed away from this 2 years ago. It is so unfair how little money goes to research when it kills so many people. Needs to change now.
TOTAL SHAME. Give them the money they need to find a cure.
lost my mom to mbc last year. it feels like they are just forgotten about because it isnt early stage anymore. please change this.

Your cause is worthy of everyone's support, Metastatic Breast Cancer will become curable through further developed research. Although, I do understand why other types of breast cancers are prioritized since it brings a since of urgency to prevent the cancer from further developing whereas it may be time consuming to find a cure for this cancer when it could have been prevented early on. Nevertheless, I hope this petition helps bring change to this unjust distribution of research funding.
