Having previously worked for the AMS for 3 years I can say: AMS food service is a hard job, especially for the full-time workers. It's also a dysfunctional work environment. Unionization is a long time coming. These staff members deserve to be paid a living wage and treated fairly.
I am a UBC alumnus, as are the rest of my family. I am ashamed that the AMS, which I and my family supported for all those years, is treating their employees so badly. Give your employees a fair settlement now!
As a past student of UBC, I support the Unionization of all workers! Back in my day our AMS endorsed all Unions!
Jobs should help lift you out of poverty, and not keep you there. Shame on the AMS.
Please pay your employees what they are worth, and it's a lot more than you are paying them now! Happy employees work better and smarter

Fair and equal wages and benefits for all. Would the AMS want to go with less than what they have? Likely N O T! Stop using and abusing workers just because you can. It is not right.
