Dear Fair Lawn community…

We are a group of high school students that are part of an entrepreneurship program called IAC Eitanim with the mission to make a social impact for the Fair Lawn community.

One of the main challenges we as teenagers face in Fair Lawn is the inability to get to social areas and meet with our friends because there is no organized local transportation system.

This was our motivation to come up with an idea in which we are hoping to find a solution to transport Fair Lawn teenagers around town. Our plan is to set up bus stops near populous areas in which kids are able to walk from home to the bus and get a ride to a different area of town. We set up strategic locations for bus stops and established a clear schedule with designated pick-up and drop-off times. And the best part is that it is 100% FREE!

Our idea does not just benefit us as teenagers but can also help parents, the community, and even the environment! Let's explore some of the benefits for each group.

Firstly, the benefits for teenagers are…

Getting involved in after-school activities is great for teenagers. It helps students who don't have a way to get around by providing a bus system that takes them around to the most popular places in town. This allows kids to commute to their favorite places in town safely, as this initiative will provide a safer way to get around compared to public transportation. This also helps teenagers become more independent and ready to take on college or living alone, by giving them a taste of transportation without their parents.

Secondly, some benefits for parents include…

A more trusted bus service than public transportation, more manageable work times, and less time dropping off kids or picking them up. All of these benefits support the welfare of the teens and parents of Fair Lawn. With our idea you parents don't have to go through the hassle of getting your kid to places because by using our plan, your kid can walk to the nearest bus stop and go there themselves. Our bus system will be trusted and safe, allowing parents to feel calm and relaxed whenever their kids are riding our bus.

Also, the benefits for the environment include…

By giving free transportation to youth, fair lawn’s roads are less congested meaning less traffic for all. This will decline harmful emissions allowing for Fair Lawn to have a greener future.

Finally, benefits for the community…

Our idea will engage teens and help them communicate which will allow for a sense of community. Local businesses will sell more products as there would be more potential customers. The town’s residents would become happier, and that will help the Mayor’s rates increase as well.

We are seeking the support of the Fair Lawn community to help convince the town’s administrators of the value of this addition to our town. Your support in making this idea a reality would be greatly appreciated.
