RE: Bus Transportation for Edison High School – Melbloum Lane

We would like to bring to your attention a matter that has been of concern since the community was established in 2004. This is regarding bus transportation to Edison High School for students residing on Melbloum Lane. There are approximately ten high school students living on Melbloum Lane that require transportation to Edison High School. This number will double come September.

The bus stops that our children have been assigned to are NOT optimal and pose safety hazards as they require very long unattended walks (upward of 0.7 miles in some cases). The only way that these walking distances can be shortened would require the students to cut through others' properties and/or walk through wooded areas. It should go without saying that these are unsafe conditions, especially when conditions are dark, snowy, or icy.

As a neighborhood established now for over thirteen solid years with approximately eighty homes, we strongly feel that there should be a bus stop on our street, Melbloum Lane. We request that Melboum Lane proper be assigned to a bus route. We feel that this is the best option for the safety of our children.

This letter is endorsed and signed by the residents of Melbloum Lane.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. For any questions, you may contact:

The momentum is undeniable now. The school board cannot ignore this neighborhood much longer.

There are circles of different diameters on our long street. Surely one is big enough for a bus to turn around!

This is a basic necessity. Kids and parents from this community should have similar rights as do other residents of our great school district. For the last 10 years since this community has been built, residents have raised this concern. I think it is high time residents from wood green community are treated fairly. I will urge the board of ed council members to please address this concern.

I've lived in this community for 10+ yrs and it's unfortunate that a bus stop to ensure the safety of our children has not been established on Melbloum Ln given the substantial amount of taxes collected from members of this community.

We have 87 houses in this New community established in 2004. The Edison Transportation Board needs to include the street of Melbloum Ln Edison in there route Map. Please provide Bus services to all the schools in this township for this community.

I have endured great stress having to leave early from work to pick up my daughter from the bus stop to ensure her safety.
