The Vale of Glamorgan receives one of the lowest levels of funding from the Welsh Government.

The Vale receives £202 less per person than Cardiff, £226 less than Bridgend and £409 less than Rhondda Cynon Taff.

The needs of each Authority differ and it would be unfair to call for the same level of spend as RCT. However, Cardiff and Bridgend are better comparators, with Cardiff being one of the most prosperous parts of the UK.

In 2011/12 the difference with Cardiff was £126 and in 2010/11 it was £73. If we received the same funding per person as Cardiff, the Vale would gain an additional £25.6M to spend this year alone.

This money could finance one and a half new secondary schools – every year. Imagine the type of regeneration that could be supported in our towns and villages.

Please sign the petition to support the call for a Fair Funding Settlement for the Vale.

Please note that the website will ask for a donation to ipeitions after you sign. This can be ignored. It is part of the website and has nothing to do with the campaign.
