Sports teams have been allocated £128100 (11.1% of the total budget) between the 20 sports teams that currently exist, whereas societies have been allocated only £3000(0.25%) between all 50 that currently exist.
I personally do not think this is fair and want to do something about it. If you feel the same, please come to the meeting tonight.
If you can't come along tonight please leave your name below with a student number.
Only hearing about the AGM today at 2PM, no one is able to set up a proxy as the deadline tomorrow.

The momentum behind this is honestly overwhelming and it proves I am not the only one frustrated by the current budget split. It has been an exhausting few days but seeing this level of interest keeps me moving forward.

So the societies are getting 60 quid but the sports teams are getting £6,405? Nearly 10 times more. That's actually ridiculous
Both are organised for people who have interests in similar things, whether that be for sport or for societies. Why are they not funded and backed the same?
The allocation for sports teams seems a bit excessive seeing as what I have heard about joining costs
This seems unfair with such a low budget spread between 50 societies, while sports have so much.
Being a current member of the JAMS society I cannot believe this! This is unfair due to us having to fundraise so much to go on outings and the sports society get so much!

Not all people are sporty, our other societies should be treated fairly!

As Vice President of the Japanese Anime and Manga society, I know how hard it is to find funding for the society. Theres so much we have to offer to our members and so much we can give them. But we just dont have the funds to do it. Give us a chance and fair treatment please and let us give our society what they deserve.
