The current A2 selection of club positions is unfair and is not well thought out, and were based off of incomplete information, lack of awareness, and impartial due process.
This has affected the confidence and morale of the newer A2 batch which will affect how they treat the club members and the overall level of engagement of their respective club.
This is why we believe club positions should be reconsidered.

In this day and age, no one should have to face unfair selection standards.

To start off, the forms were initially sent on 3rd August via email, to be due on the 7th. After complains of the links not working, we were sent another email on the 6th with allegedly "updated" QR codes which again, did not work. The correct QR codes were only shared in one exclusive Student Council group on the 6th. This blatant disregard and lack of care stripped students of the opportunities that they deserved, and instead opted to give them to the students who have previously been selected last year and have been getting selected consistently while showing no signs or proof of their contributions.  During this week, many students commuting could not make it to school due to stormy weather and flooding of roads such as the expressway, Srinagar highway, and other waterlogged areas around E, G, and Rawalpindi sectors, along with the ever growing political instability in that same week, which adds another layer of disconnect between the administration and student body.

Furthermore, the forms themselves compared to last year lacked proper questioning and only asked for basic face value information, such as grades and monetary participation, which were not only very easy to lie about, but do not show the students true potential for taking on these positions. There was no box for previous events, experiences, and other activities the students conducted and/or helped set up, with most of the focus being on O/A level grades. The gap was not covered in the interviews either, which were rushed, most were taken on call, which makes it impossible for the interviewer to even assess the candidate and their capabilities on a more sophisticated level, due to the limited questioning.

The final decision-making was poorly executed, which has left many students disheveled and disheartened, feeling robbed of the roles that they worked hard for and deserve to have on their university applications.

Therefore we ask the administration to reopen the application forms, ensuring correct and working links to be sent through official channels where every student is able to access and apply with fair opportunity as well as ample time to do so. Teachers incharge of clubs should diligently follow up with each student, confirming they're the right students, as students with the same names, which is not uncommon, end up being mistaken for one another eventually leading to one or both missing out on deserved opportunities. There should be detailed in-person interviews, with a heads up of at least ONE (1) day so students have time to prepare and show up with the required proof and certificates. Positions should be handed out on the basis of the students' contributions, determination, and their skillset in the club/field they are applying for, instead of simply choosing members based on grades.

Academic performance is not a measure of caliber, and cannot be used to prove that a club will end up successful in what it sets out to achieve. And in the end, that is what truly matters.

NO STUDENT LEFT BEHIND! VIVA LA REVOLUTION!
