We are seeking confirmation that Elmhurst Elementary School students in the Portsmouth School District will not be moved to alternative learning facilities prior to the finalization of a long-term facilities plan being approved and bond financing obtained.
We demand a democratic process that examines all options and their consequences PRIOR to the closing of any Portsmouth Elementary School.
We would appreciate your support in this measure to ensure that we have a long-term plan in place, funding in hand, and construction plans within acceptable completion dates. These must be finalized prior to student reallocations taking place. Your signature indicates your support of our demand for informed democratic decisions in the best interest of Portsmouth Public School students.
The district is still staying quiet about the future of Elmhurst but we are not going anywhere. Email your school board representative today to demand they stop these moves until a long-range plan is finally public.

The momentum behind this effort is undeniable and proves that our community expects a real plan before any school doors are locked. Post this petition link on Facebook today to ensure our representatives understand that shortcuts are not acceptable. Email your district representative now and demand they pause all relocation talk until a long-term plan is finalized.

Elmhurst needs to stay open until they actually have a strategy that makes sense. Quit treating our kids like pawns.

This is ridiculous. You cant just kick kids out of their school without having a real plan for where they are going. Stop rushing this!

The board has no idea what they are doing. Elmhurst is the heart of this neighborhood and they are acting like it means nothing.
