We are a combination of structural engineers, civil engineers, surveyors, building officials, hotel owners, condominium board members, single-family "vulnerable" oceanfront homeowners, and other concerned parties. There is currently a huge burden on the design professionals and associated professions to file all emergency permits for coastal reconstruction prior to January 6, 2023, when the State of Florida - Department of Environmental Protection - Hurricane Ian EFO 22-2740, ordered and entered on Oct. 28, 2022, and amended on Dec. 1, 2022, is set to expire. We, the signatories, respectfully request your assistance in extending this deadline for at least (60) days, until March 6, 2023.

Governor DeSantis, This extension is extremely important in providing us the time to prepare the permit documents for the numerous clients we have needing emergency repairs to their seawalls and homes. Thanks for your help
I take a great deal of pride in the community in which I was born. I have never seen the amount of damage the property owners are contending with. There is a shortage of surveyors, engineers etc. to make these January deadlines. Please extend this deadline at least 60 days..
We lost part of our backyard and need time to get it permitted and repaired. Thank you.
The months of November and December are typically shortened with the holidays. The abundance of work to be done is overwhelming not just for the Insurance companies, Owners, and design professionals, but also the permitting agencies on the local, state and federal levels. An extension would increase the efficiency and quality of the overall process. Please review and grant an extension for at least 60 days. Thanks, and have a great Holiday Season.
As an owner of multiple damaged seawalls, this extension is critical. This unprecedented event requires unprecedented original thinking from our government officials, who we know are working very hard on our behalf. Please grant this extension.

As of yesterday at 6pm we became aware that the Emergency Order will be extended for (60) more days.. The list of properties needing repairs is long. Therefore, demand for licensed contractors is huge. More time is required for people to hire to retain their services. We need help!
