Although I'm not really interested in the extended deadline, I really think we should make a point with this petition. This shouldn't have happened (THE WEEKEND BEFORE HAND INS!) and this shouldn't happen again. If we're paying (Some 7k, others 14k) we deserve to have all the facilities available if not all the time, the week prior to our essays are due. This was outrageous.

As postgraduate students at LCF we take pride in producing high quality, well-researched academic work on a timely basis. I believe producing such work is what we all came to study here for. Situations that get in the way of us producing work that is up to our standards therefore undermine the very reason of our studies at LCF. Given that we had planned our work on the essays well in advance, and the IT maintenance clearly disrupted our planning, I regard this situation as detrimental to our learning outcomes and believe the only way to rectify it would be to allocate additional 2 days for research and editing in lieu of the 2.5 days we have been deprived of, which would allow us to produce papers that would live up to LCF's - and our own - high academic standards..

I second Paula Alaszkiewicz's comment. It was not communicated in advance, nor were we given updates, especially when it was still not working by Sunday.

I have added my name to the list of signatures because I am disappointed in how the situation was dealt with and the lack of warning, communication, and updates. It clearly was a disruption to our planned work schedules and resource usage.

Absolutely ill timed and maintenance of the ssytem in the final week of hand in is really inconsiderate!
