I have addressed this with the Alumni Board of Directors along with a friend on the IWU Board of Directors. I just wanted you to know we won't ignore the situation. Our IWU students' (and for me, my own IWU student) safety is of great importance.

I live in off-campus sorority housing and have been harassed walking alone after 8pm. This is even scarier because of the armed robberies.

I also used to work for Titan Transport and I am totally for this. Though I understand how the 10-2 timeframe worked in the past-recent events show the NEED for an extension of hours. IWU students should always feel safe whether on campus or off and this is one big step the school can take to ensure that.

This should not need a petition. The administration should be putting student safety before all else and ensuring that students are more focused on their education than whether or not they can walk home free of danger. As someone who still has many friends on campus, I'm worried sick that there have been so many incidents with apparently no action by security and other offices that should be focusing on the welfare of students.
