We petition to extend the Federal Pell Grant from six semesters to eighteen semesters to allow those who are completing an undergraduate program to do so consecutively. The average time for students to finish college is seven years. Those who are in compromising financial situations will be able to have some type of aid to pay tuition and wont have to give up the dream of finishing with a diploma. If the semesters are extended, financial distributors can allocate the funds for the exact amount only. In this way it guarantees that the funds are not pocketed but is used in the sole purpose of funding education. The completion rate of college will therefore increase by more than fifty percent.
