Explorer Preschool is funded in part by the Metropolitan Adult Education Program (MAEP). This means that the teachers at Explorer are Adult Education teachers with teaching credentials (not just ECE units) in Parent Education and the parents at Explorer are in fact the students in the Parent Education classes. We get our education by working in the class, attending the nightime and daytime PEC\'s. MAEP has decided to permanently close their entire Parent Education Program. This will mean that Explorer will lose between $18,000 to $20,000 per year in funding, plus other intangible benefits such as affiliation, publicity, staff develpoment, etc. Please help Explorer keep their funding by signing this petition and showing your support for Parent Education. Parent Education helps keep Explorer Preschool be the best Co-Op Preschool in the area. We need to Stand and be Counted! We will be giving the MAEP Board this petition on or prior to their March 12th Board Meeting where they will be finalizing this plan.
