Recycling brings consciousness to what we are consuming and disposing of. It reduces the size of landfills, which are producing harmful toxic gases and taking up space. Recycling allows us to reduce our consumption of raw resources, many of which are becoming endangered in today's world. The current recycling drop off center at Waste Management is too limited as far as hours and location. I want a more central location in Estes Park and open hours for dropping off my recycling. Not only will this allow me to recycle more, but It will encourage tourists to recycle. The town of Estes Park should take leadership in creating this centralized recycling center for the residents of Estes Park and the tourists by: writing grants, following neighboring towns' examples, and partnering with Waste Management, Larimer County Recycling Facilities and Local Activist Groups.
