In D.C, Maryland, and Virginia, we've noticed that there has been a lack of access to drug treatment for less wealthy people. Many people get addicted to drugs every year, and treatment for addicts need to be fair and equal.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is an abstinence based program that helps people who have been abusing drugs and alcohol. IOP is a great service because not only do you get the treatment you need, but you also get to have a life while your in this program. IOP requests 10-12 hours hours a week, so you still have time to do your daily affairs.
This petition calls for local hospitals like Silbley Memorial Hospital, Holy Cross, and Inova Alexandria to incorporate this program into there treatment procedures.
If IOP is in the standard routines for local hospitals drug treatment, we will become one step closer to ensuring everyone has access to equal drug treatment.
