merg·er : A combination of two things, esp. companies, into one. Memphis City Schools (MCS) and Shelby County School (SCS) have recently decided to "merge" into one school system in the upcoming 2013-2014 school year. We are all considered under Shelby County Schools but are we really one? If we are one why is one half of the city in uniform but the other half is not? I do not find that fair or "equal" as they now say we are. The decision has nothing to do with expenses because non-uniform clothing are found to be less expensive than uniform clothing. If we are the same we should look the same. They are making us equal yet keeping us separate. We are all Shelby County Schools, so ALL Shelby County Schools students should have the same uniform policy.

Its ridiculous. Half the city is dressed like business people and the other half is just doing whatever. If we are under one name now then lets act like it. Make it uniform for everyone or just scrap the whole policy.

EXACTLY. They say we are merged but nothing has actually changed. Either everyone wears them or nobody does. This is confusing and not fair to the kids who are stuck buying expensive polos when kids across town dont have to.
