University of Guelph - CME Dean's Office: Permit Doug Adlam to teach MCS*4100 - Entrepreneurship

Unfortunately because of college policy, full time professors are allowed to take over any courses from part time professors that they would like. As a result, a full time professor has taken Doug's course. While this is unfortunate in itself, the new professor is not even allowed to utilize the extraordinary curriculum that Doug has developed. I believe that this is the wrong thing for the students of CME, as this action will deprive them of a professor that is the best qualified to teach this course. Doug has created this course from nothing and has made it into something truly special. Now, students risk losing an amazing professor and the curriculum that made the course so unique. I have received word that the only way that Doug can continue to teach the course is if the Dean (Sylvain for now) opposes it. Unfortunately, Sylvain has said he refuses to do anything unless there is a student movement to fight it. Here is where all of you come in. Sign this petition to send this simple message to the Dean: "Doug Adlam was a fantastic professor and delivered an effective and unique learning experience while I took MCS*4100. I encourage the college to consider allowing Doug to remain teaching the course this coming year so that he might be able to continue delivering an exceptional learning experience, while continuing to innovate for the betterment of the course and the CME."
