Petition to move current Northern Sup surfing boundary at the Dogpatch area of San Onofre.

We are attempting to have the current Sup surfing area moved to the volleyball court north of "Pink Pole" which will expand the current area by approximately 100 yards. With the loss of parking at the Southern end of the current SUP surf zone due to erosion this past winter and the growing number of Sup surfers, we feel that this boundary change will be beneficial to not only the SUP surfers but also the growing number of handicapped wave ski riding surfers that need to launch in the expanded area proposed within this petition. The expansion area is generally very lightly used by non paddle surfers and sometimes goes completely unridden so the impact on the non paddle surfers is negligible. .

Please understand that you don't have to be a Regular at this surf spot to sign. Its a step to relax the SUP surfing laws everywhere. Who knows. You may end up here one day in your travels and be able to enjoy our spot and experience the aloha we project to everyone.

With the technology we have now, most surf SUP are even shorter and a lot lighter than longboards. Most surf SUP are 9' or less while longboards are over 9'. Why do we need to have separate surf and SUP areas?

Definitely needs to be enlarged. Growing popularity of SUP requires increase in available break space. Not a passing fancy as many had thought. Here to stay.

The area known as DogPatch has such a limited break, the SUP Surfing and Butt Boarders are as cramped into a small are, they are not asking for a large area, just to able to ride a wave for more than a sec. San Onofre is all about surfing the waves, the SUP's and Butter Boarders are doing just that, trying to get a decent wave to surf to enjoy the ocean like everyone else at San O

Great idea .... we can all get along fine if we just respect each other... from a prone surfer.

I'm a frequent vistor and surf at Dogpatch whenever I'm in Southern California. the current regulation is completely unfair, I'd like to see it overturned totally permitting equal access to all surfers, but this change makes a ridiculously unfair situation at least tolerable. How the lifeguards get away with enforcing a restriction like this on disabled surfers is beyond me.

The proposal is reasonable and appears to be happening on a regular basis in spite of the location of the signs. This would proposal would support fairness and equal access to waves for all riders
