Baseball conjures images of long, lazy summer afternoons at the ballpark. Mustard stains and warming beer. Bleacher seats being crossed by the shadows of eventide. But, as TV revenues began to dictate more and more of the game's rules, the game's pride, the game's schedule, less and less games are played in the afternoons. We can't ask Major League Baseball to ban all night games, but we do believe that all weekend games should played in the afternoon. The only exception would be for a doubleheader, another dying tradition of America's pastime. Please, join The Barnstormer in asking MLB commissioner Bud Selig to put an end to weekend night games, and together let's take our summers back.
