End the unreasonable workload at CUNY

We teach an intensive 2 year full-time program to license Radiologic Technologists and I feel this matter is of utmost importance. A reduced load will allow us to more fully train individuals in healthcare (in our case, applying radiation and patient health care during injury or illness) with quality to take on the enormous responsibility of caring for patients in any situation in the healthcare setting including life or death. We also have work expectations to our healthcare departments, the college and CUNY, and the community through committees and scholarly work. Six years is far too long to wait for CUNY to offer us a fair contract, let alone ignore our call for reducing our outrageous workload here at La Guardia. Our patience has been pushed to the limit and we are tired of waiting around. It's time to act now!

I work closely with students, doing research, and this work transforms their lives. I want to find time to work closely with more of my students, but I am finding it harder and harder to meet with them. My students need more of my time if we want more students to be successful.
